23. उसने दमिश्क के लोगों द्वारा पूजे जाने वाले देवताओं को बलिभेंट की। दमिश्क के लोगों ने आहाज को पराजित किया था। इसलिए उसने मन ही मन सोचा था, “अराम के लोगों के देवताओं की पूजा ने उन्हें सहायता दी। यदि मैं उन देवताओं को बलिभेंट करुँ तो संभव है, वे मेरी भी सहायता करें।” आहाज ने उन देवताओं की पूजा की। इस प्रकार उसने पाप किया और उसने इस्राएल के लोगों को पाप करने वाला बनाया।
